Supporting the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act to combat the current COVID-19 Pandemic, the members of Tanggol Kalikasan from different parts of the Philippines gathered for their Annual General Assembly via Google Meet on June 20, 2020.

Starting the event was a message from its President, Ka Ramon Grimaldo, who also called the meeting to order. He also presented the compilation of Board of Trustees (BOT) Resolutions from April 2019 to May 2020.

To inform the members on the initiatives of the organization for the past year, Atty. Ma. Ronely D. Bisquera-Sheen, Executive Director, presented the accomplishments of Tanggol Kalikasan on Natural Resource Management Capacity Building, Constituency Building and Institutional Development, Policy Reform and Advocacy, Public Environmental Legal Education and Media Education, and Direct Legal Services under its current projects such as Environmental Justice Sector Reform in the Philippines 2, Green Livelihoods Alliance Project, Partnership for Biodiversity 3, Strengthening the Legal and Metalegal Battle Against Coal-fired Power Plants in the Province of Quezon, and Endefense Program. She also provided updates on the segments being aired under the organizations’ radio program Kasama ng Kalikasan.

Mr. Nolasco Ritz Lee B. Santos III, the current Treasurer, shared Tanggol Kalikasan’s financial report. Other BOT members also attended the event. Atty. Maria Victoria Antique-Garalza determined the quorum, Atty. Mila Raquid-Arroyo presented the proposed amendments in Tanggol Kalikasan’s by-laws, and Corporate Secretary Atty. Maria Generosa Mislang introduced the BOT members.

The second half of the program was dedicated to a talk on COVID-19 and the Environment by Atty. Grizelda Gerthie Mayo-Anda, while Ms. Marybeth Mencias, a BOT member, delivered the closing remarks.
