A total of 40 participants from 19 colleges and universities in the Philippines gathered together for the 2021 Annual Meeting of the Institutes of Environmental Governance (IEGs) on February 19, 2021.
The meeting started with welcome remarks from Atty. Asis Perez, Senior Legal Adviser of Tanggol Kalikasan. He provided the meeting agenda. It was followed by presentations of completed and ongoing environmental initiatives by the IEGs.
After the participants’ updates, Prof. Ma. Elna Javier, research fellow at the De La Salle University, provided a talk on gender and the environment which aims to encourage future gender-sensitive environmental programs from the IEGs.
The last part of the meeting was action planning workshops where participants were presented with opportunities for collaboration such as mentoring, digital caravan, second season of WIldlife Philippines and radio segment Lakbay Kalikasan.
