Certificate of Recognitions were awarded by Tanggol Kalikasan (TK) to the Municipality of Sariaya, Quezon, and the City of Lucena, both local government unit partners of TK, located in Tayabas and Pagbilao Bays.
A Plaque of Appreciation was given to the Municipality of Sariaya, Quezon in recognition of the support of the local government and its active collaboration in the implementation of the project "Reducing Threats and Improving Sustainable Management of Biodiversity in Tayabas and Pagbilao Bay" from 2016 to 2018.
The awarding ceremony was held on January 09, 2023, during the first Flag Ceremony in the town square of Sariaya for the year 2023. The said recognition was formally accepted by Mayor Marcelo Gayeta along with the Department Heads and members of Task Force Kalikasan of Sariaya, Quezon. The Chief of the Town of Sariaya expressed his gratitude to Tanggol Kalikasan for the recognition received and promised to intensify the campaign to preserve and protect their Municipal waters within Tayabas Bay with the help of the said town's Bantay Dagat.
The same recognition was also given to the City Government of Lucena, held on December 05, 2022 which was formally accepted by City Mayor Mark Don Victor B. Alcala, in his office, which was personally witnessed by CMO Operation Officer Atty. Euclides G. Forbes and CPDO Juliet B. Aparicio.
As part of the law enforcement capacity building, the project likewise provided some basic monitoring and safety equipment for the members of Bantay-Dagat and Bantay-Gubat. In addition, the project will likewise provide reference materials that can serve as guide in the implementation of environmental laws.
