A comprehensive IEG Training of Trainers was conducted last February 19 to 22, 2024 at Institute of Environmental Governance - Central Luzon State University in the Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija. The event brought together the newly formed IEG faculty teams from Isabela State University in Isabela, Aurora State College of Technology in Aurora, Southern Luzon State University in Quezon, Camarines Norte State College, and Occidental Mindoro State College in Occidental Mindoro, along with the IEG coordinators from various institutions, including Batanes State College, Mariano Marcos State University, Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, Pangasinan State University, Central Luzon State University, Ateneo de Davao, Father Saturnino Urios University, Holy Name University, Bukidnon University, Western Philippines University, Catanduanes State University, Bicol University, Visayas State University, and Mindanao State University in Marawi and Tawi-tawi.

The ToT program focused on four key objectives designed to strengthen the capacity of participants in promoting effective environmental governance:

  • Enhancing participants' ability to organize and conduct environmental governance training;
  • Equipping participants with the skills necessary to serve as technical experts to advise their respective LGUs;
  • Sharing learnings, challenges, and accomplishments in the implementation of IEG program; and
  • Enhancing the existing IEG module on natural resource management.


Empowering Future Leaders in Environmental Stewardship

Through this comprehensive training program, participants are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and collaborative spirit needed to successfully implement the IEG framework within their respective universities and colleges. The program serves as a significant step forward in empowering a new generation of environmental leaders across the Philippines to contribute to a more sustainable future.
