Environmental Law Enforcement Module Enhanced

This under the Restoring the Resources for Economic Sustainability of West Philippine Sea (RESTORE-WPS) Project targets the capacity-building training requirements for WPS to address Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing (IUUF) and other forms of resource degradation.
The more or less 25 participants from BFAR, DENR, DILG, PCG, PNP-MG, PSDS, LGUs and various agencies were able to craft a training program that covers both substantial and procedural aspects of environmental law and enhanced the existing module on environmental law enforcement. This will be a recommended module to be used by relevant government agencies which will address the knowledge, skills, and attitude of the mandated agencies and offices in accordance with the Rules of Procedure for Environmental Cases.
The workshop was graced by the presence of CG VADM Rolando Lizor N. Punzalan Jr., Deputy Commandant for Operation of the Philippine Coast Guard who challenged the delegates to continue on this endeavor and assured that the PCG will be with them in the process.
This was facilitated and implemented by Tanggol Kalikasan under Strategic Approach 2 of RESTORE WPS with assistance from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the Gerry Roxas Foundation (GRF).
