Infanta, Quezon- from December 17-18, 2024 the paralegal training for ReINa Federation staff was conducted at the Santa Monica Beach Resort, Bgy. Boboin, Infanta, Quezon.  

The training focused on enhancing  the capabilities of ReINa Fed staff and benefit disaster-prone communities, Eco Scouts, and school children in Real, Infanta, and General Nakar By the end of the training, staff are expected to be equipped with foundational skills in forest management and legal enforcement, enabling them to manage the NGP site and other natural environments effectively.

Over the two days, the training featured a series of learning sessions, including:

  1. Understand the elements of prohibited acts under PD 705, RA 9175, RA 9147, RA 7586 (as amended by RA 11038), and related laws.
  2. Learn to draft complaint affidavits and affidavits of key witnesses involved in enforcement operations.
  3. Identify and prepare the necessary documents to support affidavits.
  4. Gain an understanding of legal proceedings before the prosecutor.

The training also focuses on understanding basic forest and environmental laws, identifying prohibited acts, filing complaints, drafting affidavits, and navigating the proceedings process, as outlined in the curriculum.

As a part of the adult learning principles the sessions guided the participants by sharing their experiences in forestry and environmental management. Methods include PowerPoint presentations, open forums, quizzes, pre- and post-tests, workshops, tabletop exercises, and mock preliminary investigations to enhance engagement and learning.
