Norzagaray, Bulacan — Fostering People’s Education, Empowerment and Enterprise, Inc. (FosPEEE) continues to strengthen environmental protection efforts in the Ipo Watershed through the successful conduct of a three-day Orientation Course for Deputy Environment and Natural Resource Officers (DENROs) on November 19–21, 2025, at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Ipo Dam.

The activity forms part of the Bantay Ipo Project, a two-year initiative (June 2025–May 2027) for the management of Bantay Gubat and the strengthening of the Ipo Watershed Protection System. The project is aligned with the 25-Year Integrated Watershed Management Roadmap for Angat–Ipo–La Mesa (IWMRAIL) of MWSS, Maynilad Water Services, Inc., and Manila Water Company, Inc.

As part of its capacity-building program, FosPEEE partnered with Tanggol Kalikasan Inc. (TK) as resource person, which delivered focused sessions on the Philippine Mining Act of 1995 and Affidavit Writing, including a hands-on workshop to enhance practical skills. Members of the Ipo Bantay Gubat actively participated in the training.

The orientation aimed to enhance the legal, technical, and operational capacities of DENROs in support of stronger watershed protection and environmental law enforcement. To further sustain these efforts, two additional paralegal training activities are scheduled for February and March 2026.

The activity was facilitated by FosPEEE with the support of DENR, MWSS, MWSI, and MWCI, reinforcing multi-sectoral collaboration for the protection of the Ipo Watershed.
