Tayabas City, Quezon — Community leaders and local officials from ten barangays gathered at Tayabas City Hall on December 5, 2025, for a community roadshow addressing environmental and social concerns related to ACEN’s proposed 247-megawatt wind energy project located near the Mt. Banahaw–San Cristobal Protected Landscape (MBSCPL).

Organized by Juan Banahaw in partnership with Tanggol Kalikasan Inc. (TK), the roadshow aimed to strengthen community participation and legal awareness on energy projects. Twenty-six (26) Sangguniang Barangay members joined discussions on the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) Law and the Just Energy Transition (JET) framework, facilitated by JET Fellows and environmental lawyers.

City officials from the Mayor’s Office, Vice Mayor’s Office, City Legal Office, and ENRO also participated. The activity concluded with barangays signing a commitment to protect the MBSCPL and the distribution of IEC materials.

The activity was facilitated by Tanggol Kalikasan, with support from the Alternative Law Groups (ALG), under the Just Energy Transition Fellowship Program.
