The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region IV-A, through its Manila Bay Clean-up, Rehabilitation, and Preservation Program Management Team (MBCRPP-PMT), together with the Regional Validation Team (RVT), successfully conducted the 2025 Fisheries Compliance Audit across nine coastal LGUs in the province of Cavite.
Facilitated locally by DILG-Cavite, the validation team assessed the cities of Bacoor and Cavite, along with the municipalities of Kawit, Noveleta, Rosario, Tanza, Naic, Ternate, and Maragondon.
The Regional Validation Team brought together expertise from regional offices, including BFAR IV-A, DENR IV-A, EMB IV-A, DOST IV-A, DTI IV-A, TESDA IV-A, NAMRIA, and non-governmental partner Tanggol Kalikasan.
Held following on-site and table validations conducted from May 21 to June 2, 2026, the evaluation reviewed local government compliance with Republic Act No. 8550 (The Philippine Fisheries Code), as amended by Republic Act No. 10654. The initiative underscores a unified multi-sectoral approach to ensuring sustainable fisheries management and legal compliance throughout Cavite’s coastal ecosystems.
