In close coordination with Quezon’s Department of Environment and Natural Resources, 204 olive ridley sea turtle hatchlings were released by residents and members of Bantay Dagat in Brgy. Bignay II, Sariaya, Quezon on December 5, 2019. This was the second batch of hatchlings that were released in the area.

The Marine Turtle Hatchery in Brgy. Bignay, which is being managed by locals and Bantay Dagat, has been operating for years as the shoreline of Sariaya is known as nesting grounds of three species of sea turtles such as hawksbill, green and olive ridley. To support this initiative, Tanggol Kalikasan are providing trainings on Pawikan Patrolling and Conservation.

There is another hatchery in Brgy. Guis-guis San Roque.
